Welcome to twenty-twenty-three. As we embark on a new year filled with possibilities, one sure way to deliberately stand out and work towards your goals is to take a second look at your appearance. This is how you show up and how it impacts you and your aspirations.

As a Style Strategist, here are my four strategies to elevate your personal brand for a year that sees your most authentic self and life improved.

Strategy 1 – SIGHT: CREATE A PLEASANT APPEARANCE.

“When you wear pieces that are outstanding on you, people notice you, not what you are wearing”.

The human body has a way of showing the world how disciplined we are in what we wear and how we move. It also tells how much effort we make to maintain a particular image of ourselves. Even though it sounds so simple, you should try it. Ensure that you dress appropriately and maintain a good posture this year. After all, THE FIRST STEP TO BEING RESPECTED IS TO LOOK RESPECTABLE

Strategy 2 – CHOOSE YOUR FRAGRANCE WITH A PURPOSE

The profound power of fragrance is its ability to set the tone for you to share your brilliance. In other words, your choice of fragrance must express who you are and how you see yourself within the space where you mind yourself. Therefore, defining how you like your fragrance (scented hand lotion, clothing softener, or body fragrance) is just as significant as choosing the particular smell to complement your aspirations and personality.

Strategy 3 – THE FIRST STEP TO BEING MEMORABLE IS TO CONNECT EMOTIONALLY

Generally, people respond and react based on the emotions they can access. Rather than showing up late, start with an act of kindness, respect, and presence in your space. Another act of kindness is listening to what someone else has to say, even if you disagree until it is your turn to speak. Being kind will become second nature once you form the habit, and you won’t even think twice about it.

Strategy 4- THE FIRST STEP TO BEING TRUSTWORTHY IS TO LISTEN, UNDERSTAND AND REPLY WITH INTENT.

Hearing simply happens. Listening, however, requires conscious effort and concentration. The human ear is terrific! If you think about it, the ear connects us with people to enable us to process meanings from their words and tone.

So whenever you speak, remember the sound of your voice reveals an image which summarises intent.
